No word from Shadow Mountain, but…

So it’s been nearly five weeks since I sent off my manuscript unsolicited to Shadow Mountian. That means I’m more than half way through their suggested wait period of eight weeks. I’m still keeping my fingers crossed as I wait.

In talking to a goood friend and fellow educator with whom I’ve entrusted my precious manuscript, he told me that he was impressed with the story and–paraphrasing, of course–he also said that anyone would be foolish to reject it. I found that very encouraging.

Well, I’m slowly adding to book two. There is a lot of character development happening and the addition of some new characters as well as the simultaneous story of the new guys introduced at the end of IL:TLG. I can’t wait for my readers to read it.

In other news…

Since the beginning of the school year, I haven’t really sent much out into the agenting cosmos; however, back in August I sent a query to Jessie Cammack at Jabberwocky Literary Agency, and this week she sent me my first positive response to the many queries I’ve sent out: a request for 50-75 pages. It’s hard not to get my hopes up when I hear something positive for once, so here I am with my hopes up high. Wish me luck, everybody.
